Rain!

Why does it have to rain so much, just as I'm about to head out in it? :(

It took a whole week and one day, but finally my order from Play.com came. I have had a hankering to play the Sims 2 again for about 2 months now, and since I traded in my discs ages ago then got my PC reformatted, I haven't been able to do so. I finally caved in and bought the Double Deluxe edition for £18 delivered - £12 cheaper than it's in the shops for. I've already made shoddy immitations of myself and Malcolm - I'm half-way to being a business tycoon and he is currently a GP :p

I'm posting cause I need to fill up time before meeting a wedding couple at 6pm.

Ummmm.... what else? I'm annoyed cause the flat is a total and utter mess just now, but I don't have the time to sort it out. As crazy as it sounds, I can't do fun things until the place is nice, I just can't sit in it until it's tidied. Not that I'm a neat freak or something, but it just bothers me a little, although I seem to tidy it every day lol!

Leeloo is a bum sometimes, like when she decides to pull my photography background support plus curtain down :/ She is cute most of the time though :)

Well I guess I better go ready the brolly... ^___^;

Happy 2008!

red me
This is just a quick post since we technically don't have the internet yet :)

Christmas was good, Malc went home to his family and I went home to mine - it was quiet but peaceful I suppose. My dad has given up drinking, so there were no hungover parents this year :p

Presents were good, although mum and dad did give me my xmas money a while ago, so it was mainly things like a phone for the flat, electric toothbrush, some new clothes/pyjamas etc and soap stuff etc. I got more than I thought I would though, on top of my xmas money :) My brother gave me a Zombie and a Tyrant Resident Evil figures, and an Umbrella clock to match. Malc gave me a Catface T-shirt (creators of Weebl and Bob) as well as Umbrella Chronicles, which was bought a while ago. :D

For New Year we went to Stonehaven to stay with Malcolm's older brother Andy, to watch the Fireball Festival :) It was good, nice food and company and the fireballs were pretty cool :) Although New Year's Day was slightly marred by a phonecall from mum saying that the water tank in the attic had burst and there is a big hole in the roof and water everywhere :/ not a good start.

Life in the flat is going great, (I still can't say "my flat" its either "the flat" or "malcolms flat" rofl) Malcolm's parents came to see it on the way up to Stonehaven and were impressed. I took some pics, but I might post them later, its a bit retarded posting up pics of the flat lol. Taking them is fine but posting them is something else!
We will be painting it at some point soon, most likely when Malcolm goes back to work next week. It will probably take a while though, since we want to do it one room at a time, to avoid dying from fumes. We still need some furniture, but that will come eventually. Rob you are still welcome to visit, if you don't mind the paint fumes lol :(

I am urgently looking for a job too, since I needs teh monies, so if anyone works somewhere that is looking for people, let me know!

Sorry I didn't text everyone back over New Year, I didn't take my charger to Stonehaven so my phone was dead :(

All the best to everyone for 2008!

omg
Wow, I've had a busy weekend.

On Saturday, Rob left the flat. It was hard getting everything into the van, but it was managed and goodbyes were said. It was sad but hopefully Rob will move on to a nice job down south :)

I think over the last 2 days there have been more than 30 bin bags full of rubbish evacuated from the flat. Malcolm and I decided that it was best to get a move on right away, so that when he gets his Xmas/New Year holiday, it isn't spent cleaning. I had already decided that my £200 Xmas money was to be spent on getting new things for the flat, so my mum came and took us to Tesco. We put everything you could possibly need for a kitchen, (including some cooking and baking items) and bathroom into the trolley, which came to around £100, so I was pleased with that. I was even more pleased when my mum told me she was going to pay for everything. apparently, her and dad agreed to put away £100 to help me move out when the time came, so I was really chuffed with that.

After Tesco, we went back to the flat, where dad met us with a friend's van. My mum just dived right in and emptied the kitchen far quicker than I could have imagined! We got rid of pretty much everything - cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, old appliances, containers, pots, utensils... loads and loads of stuff. We also got rid of all the bathroom stuff. Mum and dad worked hard to get as much rubbish out as possible - we filled up the van and the car, then they took it to the skips down Riverside. After they left, Malc and I didn't stop - we scrubbed every surface, cupboard and inch of floor, we nuked the oven, moved the fridges, cleaned the bath, sink, toilet and loads of stuff. When it was all clean, we opened all of our new things and put them away. We also bought a new hoover, and I know it sounds silly because its only a hoover, but its really awesome :D

I have to admit, its been tough work and there is still a lot to do, but its going very well. Malcolm has been brilliant about everything, really getting stuck into cleaning and throwing away stuff he doesn't need or want any more. He didn't even touch a game until about 9pm yesterday! By the end of this week, the place will be completely different, and we have both resolved to maintain the shinyness :D

I'm a very happy girl right now, it's good to get the ball rolling, and hopefully Malcolm and I can continue to tolerate each other :p he is thinking about buying a 50" HD TV, which I'm sure will make putting up with his smelly socks worthwhile :p Not even my horrific toothache is bringing me down :D

Hopefully everyone can come visit sometime in the New Year, I'll know how to make cookies by then, since I bought a cake cookbook and everything :p
